Kate Olmstead
Kate grew up in Burtts Corner, New Brunswick, and is a graduate of Leo Hayes High School. She has worked at Fredericton Animal Hospital since 2012, handling the front desk and most recently, inventory.
Kate enjoys the field and her job because she has always had a deep love for animals. Her role is emotionally rewarding and intellectually challenging. It is also a fast-paced environment, and no day is ever the same.
She has a range of interests in the veterinary field, including indoor cat environmental enrichment, cat behavior and psychology, quality of life and grief counseling, and humane euthanasia.
In 2005, she participated in the Katimavik Volunteer Program. When it comes to personal interests and hobbies, Kate has many. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching movies, reading, and watercolour painting. She also has two great cats – Nimue and Bingley.
