I have wanted to work with animals for as long as I can remember. When I was in high school, I was given the opportunity to work in a veterinary clinic selling pet food and doing reception work. That’s when I knew I found my passion. I had wanted to become a veterinarian originally, but watching the veterinary technicians monitor surgery, provide hands on nursing care, collect blood and so much more, it made me realize that is what I was meant to do!
I went to Dalhousie Agriculture College and graduated in May 2021. The areas of veterinary medicine that interests me the most includes rehabilitation (acupuncture, laser therapy, etc.), in-hospital patient nursing care and exotic medicine (rats, rabbits, hamsters etc.) The things that I love about my job is the feeling that I’m making a difference in the lives of animals who have no voice.
In my spare time, I love to watch cooking shows! Gordon Ramsay and Nadiya Hussain are my favourite. I also have four retired lab rats named Meredith, Izzy, Bailey and Cristina (from Grey’s Anatomy).
